THE DYBBUK PART 2

or Still Between 2 Worlds

A drag show, a possession, and an attempt at exorcism—The Dybbuk Part 2 daringly asks: is desire demonic?

In S. Ansky’s legendary Yiddish play The Dybbuk, a 19th-century Chasidic-Russian bride dies after being overtaken by the spirit of her lost lover. But what if the story didn’t end there? In this imagined sequel, the bride—now a dybbuk (or wandering demonic spirit) herself—possesses the body of a lonely queer performer trapped in a cycle of doomed romancing. As queer pop culture and Jewish mysticism collide, drag becomes a haunted ritual, bearing witness to how gender dysphoria warps intimacy and desire dwells like a desperate demon. TRAILER HERE!
