Stuart B Meyers is an interdisciplinary performing artist committed to exploring the depths of human experience and shining a light into our darkness.

Through body-based image-making that shapeshifts between dance, theatre, ritual, and communal gatherings, Stuart seeks to stretch our perception of reality and unlock hidden dimensions of aliveness. Drawing on somatic practices, old cinema, queer and camp performance traditions, and raving, Stuart blends a variety of embodied aesthetics—comic and serious, nostalgic and futuristic—crafting distinct worlds that invite invaluable self-reflection.

Stuart’s performances unfold in a range of settings, from theatres and galleries to synagogues, churches, restaurants, and outdoor spaces, challenging conventional notions of where and how performance can take place. At the heart of their work is a profound engagement with dreams, the subconscious, and unseen yet palpable energetic forces. From this perspective, Stuart fosters opportunities for vulnerability, revelation, and transformation, reminding us that even in moments of overwhelming darkness, we are never truly stuck.

As a performer, Stuart has collaborated with artists such as Tino Sehgal, Robert Wilson, Nick Cave, Ann Liv Young, Christopher Williams, and Mina Nishimura, presenting work at venues including Martin Gropius Bau and Schaubühne (Berlin), The Southbank Centre (London), The Stedelijk (Amsterdam), The Park Avenue Armory, New York Live Arts, Danspace, and The Shed (NYC).

Since 2015, Stuart has created their own works. Notable stage pieces include THE DYBBUK PART 2, SY LOFT H, KOPFKINO, THE YENTA SHOW and WITCH DANCE. Stuart’s site-specific and gallery projects include PRIDE INSIDE (dance and portraiture), DANCING IN THE OUTFIELD (video installation), NEVER CAN SAY GOODBYE (sound and movement installation on NYC’s Christopher Street Pier) and *THE SHABBOS QUEEN*, a ritual dinner party that has toured nine cities internationally. Stuart also started the queer Jewish party FLAMINGGG, which has been hosting events for up to 500 people in Brooklyn since 2021, and have served as a guest creative director for Lab/Shul and Jewish Queer Youth (JQY).

Stuart has received funding from the Berlin Senate, BK Arts Council, and the Harkness Foundation. They have been a NYLA Fresh Tracks Artist, Triskelion Arts & CPR AIR, and a danceWeb Scholar at Impulstanz (Vienna). Stuart has also been a resident educator for Ping Cong +Co, is a certified Hypnotist (IHF), and reads Tarot + Dreams through a Kabbalistic tradition (trained by Dr. Catherine Shainberg). As a DJ, they play under the aliases "Party Girl" and "Witch Way."
